Workshops are interactive 90- or 180-minute sessions for smaller groups of people. The focus is on learning new skills that people can use in their work back home. Examples might include how to apply for grant funding, teaching counselling skills for PLHIV, treatment education in low literacy populations or empowering human rights
among sex workers.
How to Apply
Read the guidelines on workshops.
To submit an application to present a workshop you must first create a conference profile.
Tips
Describe in detail the skills you will try and share with participants and the format the workshop will take.
Emphasize interactivity and hands-on learning.
List the facilitator(s) who will run the session and what languages the workshop could be conducted in.
List the materials you will hand out at the session.
Put the ideal number of participants you think the workshop should have.
Focus on skills training and learning that would not be easily done in larger abstract or non-abstract sessions.
The more creative, interactive and hands-on your application is, the better.
Although your workshop may focus on a specific population or region, try to make it applicable to other settings.
Having a workshop selected does not mean that you will not have to pay registration although it can give you points in your scholarship application.
