Cultural Activities are an integral part of the International AIDS Conference and reflects how arts and culture are used by diverse communities all over the world to respond to the HIV epidemic, educate and raise awareness about HIV and AIDS,to rejuvenate those working on the front-lines, and to foster social change. Cultural Activities include live performance such as theatre, dance, spoken word and performance art; visual art including photography, painting, graphic arts and sculpture; and screenings such as video, short flim and documentaries. This year Cultural Activities will be organized under the Global Village Programme.

Cultural Activities for the conference are chosen by a working group through the Global Village submission process which opens 1 December 2009 and closes 10 Februrary 2010.
